I studied mathematics and music while I was in college. I have been playing the guitar and bass for a little more than 10 years. I started taking blues and jazz lessons when I was 12 and continued taking lessons for four years. After I learned jazz theory I took classical lessons for a year, and also took classical piano lessons for two years in order to improve my knowledge of music theory. I love playing guitar and bass and I would like to spread my knowledge to others interested in learning how to playan instrument. I have experience playing live in rock bands, jazz bands, and live electronic music groups. I emphasize the understanding of basic music theory and show how most technique is built from there. * Formal Education: I learned how to play the piano at the conservatory of music in San Mateo for two years. I learned how to play the classical guitar at the conservatory of music for one year. I learned how to play thejazz guitar at a Jazz studio in San Mateo for four years. Private Education: I was taught to play the upright bass from jazz instructor for one year and the electric bass from jazz instructor for one year ( different instructor from the upright). undefined Performing Experience: I played guitar in a rock band performing at bars in San Francisco for three years. I played bass in a jazz band for a little less than one year. I still play bass with a live electronic music group in San Francisco, been playing for the last two years. Have played at Temple, Supper Club, New Parish (In Oakland), and many other venues around the bay area. Experience Teaching: I have taught private guitar and bass lessons for two years.
