He started playing the bass at the age of 12 years old. He obtained his first gig playing in a blues group at the age of 15. He then went on to study jazz at the Villa Maria College of Buffalo, NY where he obtained an A.A.S. in jazz studies. Hungry to get more education, he moved to Philadelphia where he enrolled at the University of the Arts getting his B.M. in jazz upright bass performance. Currently living in LA, Jon already has several recording credits to his name and is a full time working musician while educating people on bass, guitar, piano, theory and composition. Formal Education: B.M. in Jazz studies at the University of the Arts. Philadelphia, PA 2007 A.A.S. in Jazz studies at Villa Maria College. Buffalo, NY 2004 Private Education: Studied with James Kurzdorfer, original bassist of Spyro Gyra. From 2002-2004 Studied with Jack Kulp, bassist of Gamalan from 2000-2002.
