I was in the Piscataway Superchiefs Marching Band, Edison High School Marching Band, Edison High School Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble and the Kean University Percussion Ensemble; I have had numerous solos in performing with the ensembles and won awards as the Best Soloist in competitions. I’ve also studied privately under the expertise of Mark Mentor (instructor Piscataway Superchief Drum-line), Pat Petrillo (professional drummer/percussionist sponsored by Zildjian Cymbals, Baltimore Drums, and owns and operates Groove Academy in Edison, NJ), and Dr. James Musto (professional percussionist with the New York/New Jersey Symphony Orchestra also sponsored by Vic Firth sticks and mallets, Zildjian cymbals, and Ludwig orchestral percussion) with whom I also study under at Kean University, at which I am enrolled in the Music Education curriculum. I’m well versed in sight-reading, theory, tympani, mallets, random percussion (conga, traps), and most of all snare drum and drum set. Most recently I’ve studied under the independent instruction of Blake Fleming. He was mostly recognized for his work with progressive rockers The Mars Volta. I've played in bands of many styles in my long career, and have done session/fill in work as well. Formal Education: Kean University Music Program Private Education: Pat Petrillo, Blake Fleming, James Musto, Dennis Delucia Performing Experience: 20 years peforming experience. Have been in numerous local bands, such as Armor For Sleep (equal vision records). Other than that have performed with many jazz, blues, rock, jamband, and latin acts across the nation. Experience Teaching: I've been teaching for 7 years in and out of my private studio. I currently teach for two private schools in the Central New Jersey area.
