Too many times does a student lose interest or lack the appropriate teacher to delve them into the music they want to learn, and I think that's a shame. A lesson plan isn't 100% what the teacher wants, nor is it 100% what the student wants. There must be a shared interest in both the teacher's and student's desires. I focus strongly on ear training and tapping into the innate musical sense that some students may not realize they have without the guidance of a mentor - that is where I come in.
