I have been a student of music for over thirty years. My musical influences include jazz, funk, blues and rock and I also enjoy country and Latin music.. My teaching style can best be described as versatile. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe that it's important to work on the things that are difficult but it must also be fun for you. In my lessons, you can expect to learn rudiments and technique, reading for snare drum and drum set, different types of beats and musical styles and playing along to songs. I like to tell my students to try to get in a daily routine with practicing. It makes you progress faster. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students constantly improve and get excited about putting to use all the things they are learning by playing along with music. My favorite performance was a great jazz gig I did while living in Australia. My students love that I can teach so many different styles of music. I primarily teach beginners, but I can also teach advanced students.. My approach as a teacher is to help my students achieve whatever goals they have.Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
