I spent my teens trying to become good enough to realize my dream and play in a band. By the time I got to college, I played in a very successful cover band. It was an 11-piece tribute to the Blues Brothers complete with horns and backing singers. Ever since I have played in bands, duos, and solos. I Play electric, acoustic, nylon string, dobro slide, and lap steel. My teaching philosophy is to make learning fun while also helping students understand and appreciate the basics. I want you to achieve your goals and enjoy playing what you like to listen to. I am a great believer in finding ways to make the instrument and the player one. Don't just play with your fingers: play with your heart. Guitar is not an easy instrument to play but you'd be amazed how quickly you can achieve your goals with a little help. Formal Education: BA in French Philosophy Masters in Broadcast Journalism Performing Experience: I have played some iconic venues including House of Blues, The Troubador, Harvelles and Cozy's in Los Angeles. I recently played at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK, the birthplace of the Beatles. I have played hundreds of gigs at farmers' markets, coffee houses, restaurants, clubs, street fairs, and concert halls. Experience Teaching: I have taugh on an off over a span of 10 years.
