A little about myself, I started playing the guitar when I was 8 years old. My dad would show me songs from The Beatles, The Doors, and The Who, and he is the one who first taught me how to play. Playing guitar with my dad was one of the great bonding moments we had and we loved every minute of sharing our love for music with each other. Now I will say this, I know quite a bit about the guitar. I've been learning and developing my craft for quite a long time. I know a lot about navigating the fretboard, taking advantage of the patterns that are inherent as a result of the guitar's tuning along with music theory to learn songs, improvise, and compose. If you have the curiosity for guitar or a desire to learn more about the guitar, rest assured that I will guide you on the path towards becoming a better musician. Formal Education: I went to the University of Florida and have an Associates of Arts degree. I also have a bachelor's in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida Private Education: I took guitar lessons from Bill Edwards, the author of Fretboard Logic. He was an outstanding guitar teacher who taught me so much about the guitar. I also took lessons from Muriel Anderson and Sandra Bae, who are both high level fingerstyle guitar players. Performing Experience: I have performed at multiple open mics in Florida and while I was in college at the University of Florida I performed at the Reitz Ballroom which seats 950 people Experience Teaching: I have had students in the past that have enjoyed taking my lessons. I have taught songs across genres from artists like Jack Johnson to The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. I also teach students the must knows such as how to name chords. Students won't have to use those big chord books to learn chords and instead can figure out how to implement chords on their own with the method that I teach from the book series called Fretboard Logic. The author of the book was my guitar instructor and I can assure you the book helps immensely with learning the guitar. From my guitar teacher's books, I can show you how to utilize the scale patterns on the fretboard to improvise over a chord progression. -Education- Degree: Cell and Molecular Biology School: University of South Florida Dates: 2016-08 -Reviews- Name: N Date: 2024-12-06 19:24:47 Title: Great Teacher! Body: David is such an accommodating teacher. I never played a string instrument and he helped work around some of the issues i was having. He's also very flexible with his times so you can always find a way to get a lesson in if you work a full time job like I do.
