While in high school, he formed his first band, Fatty Lumpkin, and started playing professionally soon thereafter, performing all over the DFW Area and sharing the stage with many national acts including Ivan Neville, Blues Traveler, Bernie Worwell , Mario, Lance Lopez, Neal McCoy, and Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah. He has performed all over the United States with Fatty Lumpkin, but has also toured with Verve recording artist and blues legend Lucky Peterson, from whom he learned a great deal. Since then, his devoted commitment to music and the guitar has recently earned him a Bachelor of Music with honors from the University of North Texas in Jazz Guitar Performance, acquired under the tutelage of Fred Hamilton.
