I have been a student of music for 19 years. My musical influences on trombone include Frank Rosolino, Curtis Fuller, and Troy Andrews. My influences as a music educator include Leonard Bernstein and Victor Wooten. My teaching philosophy is centered around learning technical skills in conjuction with personal expression In my lessons, you can expect to learn proper breathing techniques, applying basic musical principles to complex musical situations, and range building exercises. I like to tell my students that being "bad" at something is the first step towards being good at it. My favorite performance was playing with two jazz greats, Wayne Bergeron and Gordon Goodwin, at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans. My students love my light-hearted approach and positive attitude. I primarily teach trombone, but I can also teach Baritone, Euphonium, and Tuba. My approach as a teacher is to always focus on the positive. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
