Parents have many choices regarding their child's care, including family members, friends, family day cares, and child care centers. Although each type of child care has its benefits and drawbacks, Small Steps Child Care allows your child to participate in a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities while still benefiting from the sense of belonging to an extended family. I believe strongly in providing children with the tools that will stimulate their sense of reasoning, imagination, and exploration so that they may build a strong foundation for life.

We are a mother and daughter team who run an in home daycare/preschool. We offer a safe and loving environment where children can grow and develop into the amazing little people they were meant to be. A typical day for your child will include healthy homemade meals, crafts, stories, free play, dramatic play, music, physical development, rest time, outside time, a preschool lesson and of course lots of nurturing and love. In our care your child will receive all of the benefits of preschool environment while still receiving the individualized care that they need. I'm Stacey and the daycare/preschool is run out of my home. I have a huge fenced grass backyard, a play room, craft area and outside play area. We are within walking distance to a beautiful park as well. I have over 15 years experience in childcare as well as my BA in education. I have been a nanny, preschool teacher, elementary school teacher, childcare center director and quality first coach. Working with children is my passion and I truly love what I do. I get my passion for children from my mother Cindy. She ran a daycare center out of our home for 15 years as I was growing up. Since then, she has been working as a nanny. She is the most loving and patient person I have ever met. She gives new meaning to the word kindness and could give Mary Poppins a run for her money any day. We understand how hard it is to leave your precious children in someone else's care and we would love the chance to set your mind at ease and give your kiddo the best care possible.

Greatest Resource Educational Home Childcare

I began my career as a home child care provider in 1986. I was formerly licensed with the U.S. Air Force and received extensive early childhood growth and development training. I am a few classes short for my associate's in early childhood education. My husband of over 30 years and I have three children and five grandchildren. In addition to home child care, I have worked as a nanny, child care center teacher, preschool teacher, teacher's aide, and as a substitute teacher in an elementary school. Our days are softly-structured and encourage play and exploration through a professionally created curriculum that covers Early Literacy, Language Development, Science, Sensory Explorations, Numbers, Early Math Skills, Arts and Crafts, and Music and Movement Activities. I believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, where they can exercise their natural curiosity and can manipulate and explore the environment around them. My environment and curriculum is built around this simple philosophy. Everything is presented in such a way that the children learn while playing and having fun. I encourage parents to expand upon their child's experiences by sending home lesson plans, song lyrics, and finished projects, so they know day-to-day what their child was exposed to. I truly believe today's children are our greatest resource; hence the name Greatest Resource Educational Childcare. I will always do my very best to provide a safe, stimulating, and loving environment. Open Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Nutritious meals and snacks included.

I love taking care of children and seeing the joy on their faces as they play, explore, and learn new things. I believe children learn best when it is through discovery and play. My program is centered around having fun, building friendships and learning life skills all while simultaneously learning traditional early foundations such as their alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes.

Developing an active learning environment with hands on. Providing a structured day with emphasis on play and learning. Providing Communication to parents with weekly outlines of activities and meals if applicable. Readiness for reading and math is a goal of some preschool curriculum activities. There will be exercises and games that will teach the children their letters, names of shapes, and counting. This is usually done with finger plays, nursery rhymes, and songs. These activities also add to their vocabulary development, which is important in Kindergarten and primary school. We will do arts and crafts, and we will have playtime outside.

Karen G. says "Great atmosphere, loving environment. Clean."

I am a very loving and dedicated mom of three and grandmother of four. I am looking to help teach and care for children as if they were my own (as my last child is now in 7th grade and I have home-schooled for the previous school year). I have (over the years) cared for children both long and short term, anywhere from newborns to junior high school age. I have over 20+ years of experience caring for children, as well as children with special needs. I have also enjoyed being a mother's helper, picking children up from school, picking up dry cleaning, etc. I enjoy teaching, reading and playing, while providing a nurturing, loving, pleasant, fun, safe environment for children. I believe in children having fun and being stimulated and challenged (not just TV watching). We take walks, go to the park, do crafts, visit the library to name a few of our activities. I have been an assistant to the youth leader, and Sunday school teacher for our local church. I volunteer yearly as an assistant to the business manager of my son's football team, also providing them with care, snacks, rides, encouragement and support. I believe in and encourage parents to drop by and check in on their children. I also ask that parents take the time to go over their children's activities and art projects they bring home, as we celebrate each child's achievements daily for a healthy, positive self esteem.
