At Miles of Smiles Childcare, we are always focused on learning, but in ways that are fun and engaging. I think everyone-children and adults-learns best when they're having fun. Even when we are doing something ordinary, I'll sing a song about it; the kids think it's so funny, and it really keeps their attention. Throughout the day, we review the alphabet and other lessons, dance and sing songs, create arts and crafts, and read and tell stories. I always incorporate lots of sensory play into our days. In the backyard, I fill buckets with water and place toys inside, so kids can explore the different textures and really let their imaginations run wild. I also make boxes with sand or shredded paper and bury objects inside. Sometimes you can create the best toys out of the simplest items! What is NeighborSchools? I want the kids in my program to have endless opportunities to play and learn. Through play, they can explore and expand their mind. Learning through play is very important to me. There is a lot of healthy brain development when children are expressing themselves creatively and using their imagination. We also focus on every domain of development for the children in every activity we do, from social, emotional, physical, and cognitive. We have a loving and safe environment that encourages development. We make sure that creative, language and communication skills, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving, and social/emotional skills are all being developed on a daily basis. We focus on every step of the growing process. We do this through sensory play, arts and crafts, puppets and dramatic play, and more. They learn about science, math, and we read stories. Everything that allows for their self-expression, learning and development. When the children come into my home every morning, they feel loved and know they are safe and going to have a fun day. Sometimes parents come in and tell me their child wanted to come in on the weekend! The children truly want to be in my home, and it is so encouraging and rewarding to me to see that. My favorite activities to do with the children have to do with helping them create and express themselves. For holidays, we get to make themed art projects. For Valentine's day this year, we made hearts and showed their parents how big their love was for them. We did this through putting sparkles on to the hearts, and the kids wanted to use all of the sparkles! It was very cute and fun! What is NeighborSchools? My first job in USA was a teacher's assistance at a large family daycare. Then I returned to college for my Bachelor's degree majoring in Accounting and Finance. Also, I have an associate's degree in education. My daycare provides bilingual education: English and Mandarin. Currently, my program accepts children under 5 years old. Currently, I already accepted two infants, only one toddler slot is open.

Little Crayones Bilingual Daycare was born from my faithful belief that children should be treated as individuals in a group environment. As we know, crayons come in a box where they all fit perfectly, but when we open the box, we can see that each crayon has a unique color and potential. The same goes for children, everyone will be in an environment full of respect, learning, support, love, fun and where they feel welcome and part of the group but respecting their individuality. The curriculum that Little Crayones Biligual Daycare offers is suitable and will adapt to the needs of each child. This will allow them not only to learn in a healthy environment, but also to be part of the group of friends they will create in the program. Leaving no one behind!

At my program, we learn through play and developmentally-appropriate activities. I love helping children learn - whether through arts and crafts, building blocks, or outdoor activities - children are like sponges, and they are constantly learning if you give them the environment and space to do so. The vision for this daycare was born out of the difficult experience of my own childhood. Being asked to sit still in a classroom for several hours a day was the opposite of my instinct to play in nature. I could hardly wait for recess to go explore rocks and trees and find peace and a feeling of being at home in the natural rhythms of the New England seasons. I didn't want my daughter to have the same experience. So I sought to create an environment that was inspired by Montessori principles and Nature School principles. The goal is for children to be self-guided in their discovery of themselves as a part of the natural world. The curriculum and design of the space creates little separation between nature and the learning experience of the children. This allows them to freely engage in the mystery of nature and cultivates the wonder that all children naturally possess. This means there is absolutely no technology or screens and much of the day is spent exploring the outdoors. The area is filled with mature oak trees, large rocks, hills, moss, and different types of plants. There is also an abundance of wildlife, from many species of birds to squirrels and chipmunks and even a family of groundhogs that lives on the premises (my daughter squeals with delight when she sees them). The indoor area is adorned with trees, woodland animals and is inspired by Native American culture which is part of my ancestry. In fact, the Massachusett tribe lived in this area at Pine Banks Park. Part of the curriculum is for children to go there and experience the sacred connection to nature that has been lost in modern society. In summary, Oak Haven Daycare is designed to enable children to learn by freely exploring the wonders and mysteries of the natural world. What is NeighborSchools? I work with many special needs children and I so enjoy helping them achieve milestones and meet higher levels of development. My favorite part is when we've been working very hard to advance the child to the next stage and then something clicks. Parent's relief in that progress and the role that I get to play in helping the children grow is a huge motivator for me to the best provider I can. I want to see as many kids as possible come through my program and leave as strong as they can. Education, particularly learning through play, and socialization are huge in my program. The first day of kindergarten can be difficult and starting the process of socialization beforehand makes a huge difference. I want to make the kiddos and their parents' whole journeys as easy as possible. What is NeighborSchools? We spend a great deal of our time playing and having fun. Each day has routine and structure to be sure the children feel comfortable. We care for children ages 1 week-9 years old, both full/part-time. Special arrangements may be made for earlier drop-offs and later pick-ups. We are fully insured and CPR/First Aid certified. We also have experience with special needs, allergies and toilet training. We work from a curriculum to teach the children the basics like the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors. Our belief is that early childhood education and care are fundamental building blocks for the future. If you're looking for a place where your child can feel at home please call Lisa at 857-204-8250.

WELCOME to Kravenmore Kids Childcare. The children refer to me as Miss Kerri and this is the twelfth year I've operated Kravenmore Kids. I am licensed by the State of Massachusetts for ten children. I'm blessed to have some truly incredible and very qualified assistants and some terrific families. I am a happily married mother of two grown children who attended the Waldorf School as part of their early education and are graduates of Beverly High. SETTING: The childcare is located in a separate dedicated space in my home that was purpose built for childcare by my husband. The floors are heated, the furniture is custom built and the space is large, bright and welcoming. We have separate napping rooms for the infants and the toddlers. There is an acre of property to play on. Our home sits atop a hill with sunshine abound for outside play, yet has a shaded play area to shelter the children from the summer sun. It's not uncommon to see the children tending the flower or vegetable gardens by watering, picking flowers or food for inside. The children just naturally like to help and take part.

I believe that kids learn best through play, so Rock Stars Family Child Care is based on a creative curriculum that involves a lot more play than instructor-led activities. A schedule guides us, and days include free play, circle time, arts and crafts, snacks and lunch, outdoor play, dramatic play, sensory play, so much play and creativity! I also like to include music and movement. Music is infused throughout the day. For example, we have goodbye songs that help us end the day in a community setting at closing circle.
