My name is Caren Barnes and I am now accepting children 2-10 years old. My Friend's House Childcare has been licensed for 30 years. The childcare is kept very clean and we wash hands throughout the day. Unlike other childcare where the children are constantly sick, children here rarely ever caught colds or other illnesses. I have a two year degree in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Elementary Education. I provide a structured preschool program that will get your child ready for kindergarten and offer tutoring for school age children. In the preschool, children learn their ABCs, colors, shapes, calendar, how to write their names, site words, paint, cut and paste art projects and play with play-dough. I love reading books and allow the children to select which book they would like me to read. With a stack of books in hand, we all get cozy on the couch as I read their favorite books with animation and expression. The children grow to love story time at my childcare and learn a love for reading at a young age. As a family home childcare, I provide a nurturing, educational environment, with a focus on seeing your child develop to his or her full potential. I also have a large fenced yard with many activities to choose from. Please give me a call! I would love to have you over for an initial visit with your child. Our program is designed to provide a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment where children feel safe, loved, and respected. We believe the early years are crucial for emotional and intellectual growth, and we prioritize creating a space where each child can thrive at their own pace. Through a play-based learning approach, we ensure children have fun while developing essential skills and forming positive relationships. We use the Creative Curriculum to guide our teaching through play-based learning and support individual growth, and we track progress through TSGold assessments. To keep parents informed and involved in their child's learning journey, we utilize the Teaching Strategies Parent App, which fosters communication and collaboration. Our goal is to build strong partnerships with families, ensuring every child receives the love, care, and attention they deserve as they grow and learn.

Are you looking for Family, friendly, safe, childcare for your child? We're ready and excited to meet you and your kids! I've been in business a long time, have MANY references and referrals! I can give you them on request after our tour of our site. I'll have to admit, a couple people wanted to join our little 12 child ratio group, but they've never produced enough documentation to be enrolled-I'm a stickler for getting all the enrollment forms approved by me 1st. If families use state subsidies (all required payments need to be clicked into their computers before I can start care for their child or children-so if the state messes up and doesn't click NSHB for non standard hours bonus for care after 6pm or before 6 am or even for weekend care-I can't allow the family to start care with us-unfortunately). I do have to pay assistants an income and our little tiny 12 child ratio home business is not ran on air, my assistants need to be able to pay their bills too. Every business has the right to refuse business to anyone and once in a blue moon, I have to let go of family who just can't play nice and finish the forms I requested of them -that the state requires of each family to have in their child's file. Like all businesses, we are not going to make everyone happy, unfortunately. I'm really trying to keep open our licensed night and weekend care and it takes everyone's understanding that when I request documents to be filled out, it's the other agencies making me put this on file for their child's safety-it is a bummer to have to fill out forms. Having the doctor sign off on a life threatening food allergy is important! Inside a home, a lot of activity such as puzzles, 40 STEM bins inside, arts, crafts, and 2 big back yards that has a lot of activity for playing. Undercover play area. I provide a Clean well organized and FUN learning environment for your child to grow socially and emotionally. Please tour the 2 backyards with over 40 STEM bins! (educational) Other Information: ~newborn to 12 years and 11 months; ~ Early Achievers Site--LEVEL 3; ~Certified ECO Friendly Site-see certificate on the wall; ~ 30+ years experience with infants, toddlers and children; ~Full-Time and Part-Time options; ~Located in the neighborhood-dead end street 3 houses away from Renton Park Elementary; ~ CPR/First aid, BBP,HIV certified; ~Food Handlers cards; ~TB test, background checks; ~ Non-smoking home; ~USDA food program; ~DSHS and subsidies welcome.
