Loving & Experienced Pet Sitter Ready For Times When You're Away; Short Notice & Last Minute OK, It Happens To Us All.

SERVICE AREAS: I have heard from a couple folks that they were unsure what areas I serve. Yes, I live in Hyattsville but I serve and have regular sits in MARYLAND: Frederick, Howard County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundle County, Prince George's County (as far south as Temple/Oxon Hill, Clinton). VIRGINIA: everything east of Fauquier (Warrenton), Prince William, Stafford, Fairfax, Arlington. I also serve the District. ----- More About Me ----- I have over 20 years' experience caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. I am a current foster and disaster animal response team member (think Katrina). In my time fostering, I have placed over 16 dogs into new homes, and, well, I have one too many cats to call my own. I stared working at my local vet in middle school (cleaning kennels and the surgical equipment), and followed this up by working as a vet tech in college. Although I went a different direction in college (Ph. D.) and have run a tech company for the last 20 years, I am ready to be done with the brash day to day of it all and have closed it down here in the first quarter of 2013. When asked what I would do next, it was clear that working with critters would be the way to go. I have worked with a variety of animals in just about the best and worse settings. From the overly yappy Chihuahuas who think they are Great Danes, to Pitt Bulls and Mastiffs, they all share one thing, a good belly rub or just some old-fashioned attention. Cats offer no special challenge here, as I have owned just about every kind imaginable, from the pound pickup to the exotic collectable; rub their ear just the right way and they are sure to be your best friend. Add in the occasional boa, gecko, goat (yes, goat), horse, iguana, fleet of fish and birds of many feathers, and I am pretty comfortable in any situation. That is, as long as you are. All I ask is you are up front and honest about who your critter is, their personality and needs, and we will all get along just fine. MEDICAL & DIETARY ISSUES If your critter has special dietary of medical needs, this is no problem, from subcutaneous fluids to a handy pill popper, or maybe you sneak it in their meal. You just let me know and I can cover that while you're away. The key here, whatever the need, they won't miss a dose while you're gone. Please feel free to ask me about my website.
