Dogs Are My Best Friend
I have always been an animal person. In fact, if being a vet meant never seeing animals in pain, then that is the career path I would have chosen. Obviously that is not the case, so I just do the loving and caring part of it instead. I have very good training and exercise skills with dogs mainly. I am severely allergic to cats, so unfortunately I can't do any cat sitting. I have done well taking care of my own dogs by teaching them manners, and tricks they would normally learn in obedience classes. For one summer, I worked as an office assistant while taking care of a German short haired pointer, a puggle, a lab/pit, and sometimes a west highland terrier, all at the same time. It was challenging to balance everything, but mostly fun. No, I do not have any formal pet care training. I just go on the knowledge I have gained over the years from having pets of my own.
I do not believe in punishing pets. If they have done something that they are not supposed to, it is because they haven't had proper training. Usually (for dogs at least), they act out because they aren't getting the attention, and exercise they need. I can provide that.
It doesn't take a degree to care for a dog.
