Nanny, Babysitter, &/Or, Pet Sitter Available!
Hi there! I am currently a preschool teacher, but have had about 15 years of experience babysitting and was a nanny for two years. Not only do I love kids, I'm also an extreme animal lover!
I graduated from LSU in 2009, where I earned a bachelors degree in marketing, with a minor in Psychology. Soon after, I moved back home to Atlanta, and began to work with kids on a regular basis. In 2009, I began working as a nanny for a family with four kids, ages ranging from 4-13. I also was a "summer nanny" for a family with three kids, ages ranging from 6-13.
The 2010-2011 school year is when I started working part-time as a preschool teacher. I also did babysitting and dog sitting during that time. My first year teaching was spent with the young-two class. I then had the pleasure of working with the infants, where I gained useful knowledge and experience caring for young babies.
I have been caring for peoples pets for as long as I can remember (at least 20 years). I did a lot of dog sitting for several families on a regular basis. I form personal relationships with these families, and the fact that they trust me with their pets and homes is something I work very hard to achieve, and consider that trust sacred. Not only do I bond with my clients, I always form the strongest bond with their pets! I have an English bulldog named Pearl, who is my world, so I always treat and care for others' pets in ways that I would want my Pearl to be cared for.
I guess my official career in the pet care industry started at a "doggy daycare" facility. Aside from daycare, we also sold retail products (such as specialized dog food, collars, toys, etc.) and offered grooming, boarding and home visit services. I worked there for about 8 years.
So needless to say, I have years of extensive experience with regards to dogs and their behaviors, health, and happiness. On average, most families I sat for had two dogs, and/or a cat. I am willing to take on more though. While working at the daycare, I was used to being in charge of 15 to 30 dogs, so I am not afraid of a challenge!
I am comfortable with all dog breeds, so no need to worry about that intimidation factor.
