Sheri's Home Daycare

2430 Tische Rd Rock Creek, OH

I have my own in home day care Mon-Fri from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. I keep it a very clean and warm environment for the kids. I believe in being very interactive with my children and enjoy teaching them many different things! For older children we do projects and make crafts, learn letters, numbers and lots of story time to encourage reading skills. The sing along CD's are also a favorite with the kids! For the younger ones we like to keep them stimulated and learning as well! I love toys that light up and play music, we work on tummy time, building with blocks, whatever is age appropriate! In the summer I like to get them outside on nice days to play games, swing, and just enjoy the fresh air! I do not like to do a lot of TV time (especially in the summer) but once or twice a week I have the kids pick out a movie from ours or let them bring one. We make a snack and all watch together! (I have a soft spot for Disney movies!) With everything we do fun and learning is priority. I will work very hard to try and keep them on the same schedule you have them on at home with meals, naps, and potty training. I will get kids on the bus for you, or be a drop off until you get off work. We do have 2 dogs who are very friendly but because of this I am not able to watch children with a pet allergy. We have an invisible fence so they do spend most of the day outside away from the children. It is normally just me watching the kids but I do have one part time employee who comes to help when I know I will have a lot of kids on a particular day. I have been through both speech and physical therapy with my own daughter so I have experience working with children who may need a little bit of extra help.

Ohio Farm and Forest Daycare

3447 Lampson Rd Austinburg, OH

The Ohio Farm and Forest School at Purple Goat Gardens is a nature-based daycare and preschool modeled after Scandinavian Forest Schools. Eligible children are aged 3-5, potty-trained, and able to independently walk and play with peers. At our school, children play outside every day, both in the forest and on the farm, regardless of the weather. We believe the saying, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothing!" With guidance from the teachers, parents are responsible for providing appropriate gear for their children's outdoor play across the four seasons. Being dressed for the elements means that children can have the freedom to be children--to run, jump, play, climb and explore as they were meant to do. This helps children develop mentally, emotionally, and physically as they engage in unstructured, child-led play with peers in nature. Children are closely supervised by staff who are certified forest school instructors. In addition to free imaginative forest play, children get the chance to participate in farm activities like feeding, milking, and caring for goats, hatching chicks, gathering eggs, and caring for chickens, planting and gathering food from the garden, heritage crafts like basket-making, spinning and weaving, and everyday skills like cooking. The school also has a pottery studio on site and hosts annual family campouts for students' families. Parents choose children's schedule by enrolling them in morning (8:30 - 12:00) or all day (8:30 - 5:00) sessions by trimester. Trimester 1: September through December Trimester 2: January through May Trimester 3: June through August Rates, details, and additional information available on our website.

My name is Lisa. I am a Mother of 3 grown children and hold a current LPN license in the state of Ohio. This energetic and caring Grandma to be is 48 years young and has 30 plus years experience in the care and nurturing of children, birth to adulthood. "Empty nest syndrome" has made it possible to assist a family and make it possible for a parent to go to their place of employment knowing their children are in a safe and loving environment. I will work with each family to create a day plan for each childs individual care. Currently welcoming into my Madison/Geneva home children that are 3 years of age and older. Outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, gardening and the proper care of an animal are all activities your child can enjoy without even leaving my yard. Metroparks r all within a few miles of my home for a trail hike or picnic. A trip to the Madison library for summer reading programs and age appropriate activities at least once a week and on gloomy days to enhance and promote a childs vocabulary and a healthy love of reading. TV and video games are NOT encouraged and will only be used for an educational and life lesson tool. I am an advocate for healthy eating habits and proper nutrition that will help fuel a growing child and instill in them good habits that can last a lifetime. Love, respect and caring for others will be implemented in each childs day plan in the hopes that they will grow into happy and healthy adults. Parents will be able to head off to work each day and not have the stress of constant worry for your childs well being. If you are looking for a family environment and are tired of your child being exposed to multiple illnesses on a daily basis due to large groups please contact me by phone.
