We are a Christian based school that emphasizes values and character building as well as academics. Happy Hollow is a small, privately owned school, where children don't get lost in the crowd and are very family oriented. We have served the community for 30 years. Happy Hollow's owner/director has a degree in Early Childhood with a kinder endorsement, writes curriculum for many schools, is a member of NAEYC and TLCCA, and serves as a trainer for beginning teachers. Her expertise has lead to the honor of our school being selected by several colleges as a training facility for students. Our preschool program teaches thirty two skills as a readiness program for kinder. They include number and letter recognition, phonics, sequencing, patterning, classification, visual discrimination, fine motor, gross motor, predicting outcomes, size relationships, as well as days of the week, months of the year, and the pledge to name a few. We give three assessments a year to determine each child's abilities. Each child has a portfolio to take home at graduation. Our preschoolers are at the top of their class in kinder, with the majority being placed in the gifted and talented programs. Our after school program for elementary includes assistance with homework and tutoring as needed. The children build close friendships with many of our families being with us 10 years or more.
