Hello, my name is Raine. I am 27 years old and a recent graduate of The University of Nevada, Reno. I earned my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies. I have been working with children for over 10 years. I have worked as a lead teacher in a preschool, a babysitter, and as a nanny. My experience is with infants-adolescence. My hobbies include hiking, camping, listening to music, and hanging out with my fur babies. In my experience, working in the helping field I have learned that every child is unique. My style and approach is to get to know the child and build rapport so that we can build a solid foundation in order to create healthy growth and a positive bond. I also know that having a care taker in the family can be hard to getting used to. I have always been reliable, transparent, and honest with the families I work for. I feel as though a care taker is part of the family system as well. Everyone involved in the child's life is important.

Hayley was a fantastic nanny for our 9 month old son. Hayley was punctual, thoughtful, and patient with our tiny human. Hayley came up with creative ways to engage with our son on a daily basis such as creating sensory bags, painting, and jello molds with him. I never had to question Hayley's judgement as it was always spot on and I always felt comfortable having Hayley in our home and caring for our son. Hayley is clear with communication and responds well to feedback. Highly recommend!!!

Kids First Learning Center has a five star rating on www.greatschools.org and is designed to meet the needs of young children between the ages of 2-5 years old. The program is designed around the belief that a child's self-image is the most important ingredient in the learning process; believing that play is vital to a child's learning and each child is unique in his or her mental capacities, emotions, skills and interests. The center offers experiences that will enrich and enhance each child's cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical and creative development. We offer a balance of self and teacher-directed activities, so that the child may develop a positive self-concept. Opportunities for solitary play as well as group activities are provided. We respect the parent's right as the primary and most important provider of care and nurturing and believe that together, parents and teachers can provide children with a feeling of self-competence and instill important cognitive concepts and promote sharing and cooperation.
Our goal is to follow these positive guidelines in assisting children in
a) Developing a positive self-concept.
b) Developing curiosity about the world, confidence as a learner, creativity, imagination and personal initiative.
c) Developing relationships of trust and respect.
d) Understanding the value in respecting cultural diversity.
e) Facilitating intellectual growth and development of problem-solving skills through manipulative games, puzzles and other learning tasks.
f) Fostering their imagination through dramatic play, art, puppetry, music and movement.
g) Encouraging physical coordination and development of motor skills through a wide range of challenging equipment.
h) Instilling a love of literature and proficiency in language and communication skills by providing a relaxing environment that encourages verbal expression.
i) Inculcating a basic knowledge of good nutrition.
j) Imparting a love and respect for nature and animal life.
We believe that children learn best through first hand sensory experiences of feeling, listening, smelling, tasting and observing. Children need to handle, manipulate, experiment and explore. They also need to expect certain guidelines, rules and routines in order to feel safe and secure.
Kids First Learning Center opens at 7:30am and closes at 5:30pm (Monday-Friday) throughout the year excluding the school holidays, and two weeks of vacation (one week in December and one week in June).
