I'm looking for hands-on care for my father in his 90s. Meal Preparation: Dad can feed himself and prep cereal in the morning. He can even help with lunch prep if it's just pulling sandwich makings out of the fridge. But he needs someone to prep his dinner for him. Transportation: He has hospice care, so no outside appointments are being made. He likes to go on errands upon occasion. Bathing / Dressing: He does not need help bathing, as we have a CNA coming in twice a week to bathe him. He can dress and undress himself but could use a little help. He does have incontinence problems, so there may be some accident clean-up at times. We have plenty of disposable rubber gloves, baby wipes, pull-ups, and pads to place on the bed when he sits on it. Light Housekeeping: Not a requirement AT ALL except where bathroom accidents are found. Would just like the house left as tidy as it was found. Errands / Shopping: Mostly a grocery or two, or a trip to the liquor store. (He buys liquor, but doesn't really drink it anymore.). Medication Management: Yes, mornings and evenings. Plus, help manage visits from hospice care. Companionship: Dad mostly reads and naps in his chair. Sometimes he wants to go on errands. I think he's strong enough to do that, but barely. He's walking with a walker now. He's strong and steady with it. Schedule Details: We are trying to cover these shifts on the above days: 7:00am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-10 p.m. We also need help on M and W from 7:00 a.m. to 2 or 3. WE CAN BE FLEXIBLE, but we want to also be fairly regular with all our employees. Preferences for a caregiver who is comfortable with pets.
