Seeking care for my grandmother in her 70s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness, nursing experience. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my grandmother: she can be anxious, reserved, independent. My grandmother has rheumatoid arthritis that tends to flare up very often and leaves her in a lot of pain. We do our best to make her feel better through medication and specialists. But there are times when it is difficult for her to do basic in home tasks (using the restroom, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc). She was always a busy body so it's very hard for her to rest, as she tends to get restless, especially when in pain. It would help so much to find an extra hand to help her through the day and night. She also has a pet cat who is usually wary of other people. We can make accommodations in case of allergies or if she becomes unfriendly. I'm looking for someone who is patient, strong, fond of pets, bilingual. It would be a great help if the caregiver can speak Khmer since that is my grandmother's first language. She does know enough English to understand small talk. She also has a pet cat, but the cat can be removed if there are allergies or if the cat becomes unfriendly. My grandmother also has a garden in her yard and usually loves to tend to it. Recently her arthritis has been very bad and she can't do much. She would be grateful to have someone water her plants for her. She is super friendly and doesn't mind conversations but she also likes her quiet time. She enjoys listening to Cambodian church worship (Singing or preaching) on her iPad.
It would also be amazing if the caregivers can cook some meals for her as well or do some grocery shopping. She has been very picky with her meals lately and doesn't have much of an appetite.
