Uni-Vision, where we believe in One Vision - that all children given the right tools, education and drive have a chance to succeed. For this reason I strive to provide a safe, nurturing, loving, high quality, educational environment that maximizes intellectual, physical and emotional growth and development in our young students. Our mission, which distinguishes us from other high-quality preschool and daycare centers, is to foster the acquisition and development of a foreign language as important as Spanish. We believe the gift of language is an investment that lasts a lifetime!
Uni-Vision Childcare is Lancaster County's first Spanish Immersion childcare center. We are a state recognized learning center, offering the only Spanish based early childhood curriculum in our area. This is a truly new and innovative concept in childcare with a specially designed curriculum that focuses on the bilingual language development in our young students. The fastest and most effective way to achieve fluency in a language is through immersion. At Uni-Vision, our students are immersed in a full Spanish class, meaning that teaching and interaction is conducted entirely in Spanish. This provides an environment where no translation and no memorization are needed, just seamless acquisition of a second language. Our program offers students the ability to become bilingual at a very young age. Exposure to a second language should begin as early as possible. The chances of achieving full fluency in another language are much higher if study is begun in the first five years of life, since the human brain is wired to learn language during this critical period. Our students will be able to speak and understand both English and Spanish. Our students learn every day and applicable themes (daily interactions, colors, numbers, shapes, routines, commands etc.).
At Uni-Vision, we have multi-age groups, which means that children of different ages may be in the same classroom or may spend time together during the day. A multi-age grouping provides a more family-like setting for children. It allows children to learn from each other, enables teachers to gear their expectations to a child's individual development rather than age and increases the likelihood that a child will have someone to interact with at their developmental level.
