About Respite Care Charleston

Respite Care Charleston is a nonprofit organization serving those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. For more than 20 years, we've provided half-day, non-medical respite programs that offer caregivers the chance to take a break while knowing their loved ones with dementia are in a safe, social environment where they can participate in memory stimulation like games and puzzles, arts and crafts, light physical activity, music therapy and other activities designed for people with cognitive impairmentand memory loss. Our compassionate staff and caring volunteers get to know each program participant personally, making each visit meaningful and fun! Our programs are offered from 10:00am to 1:45pm at the following locations: - North Mt. Pleasant at All Saints Lutheran - Monday and Wednesday - West Ashley at Holy Spirit Lutheran - Monday and Wednesday - Johns Island at St. Johns Parish Church - Tuesday and Thursday - North Charleston at N. Charleston UMC - Thursday - Mt. Pleasant at Mt.
