My name is Lynnette and I am the owner of Koala Kids Daycare, a state licensed family home daycare located in Alexandria, Virginia. Koala Kids is conveniently located near Ft. Belvoir, Mt. Vernon, Hybla Valley and Rte 1.

I am a mother, wife of retired military and a previous social worker with over 18 years of experience in Family and Child Services. I am a graduate of George Mason University and hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree.

At Koala Kids I strive to provide the highest quality of care by focusing on the development of the whole child with a focus on his or her emotional, social, physical, cognitive, language and motor development. I provide structured and unstructured activities and our days include blocks, books, music, sensory play, outdoor activities and arts and crafts. As a participant in the USDA Child & Adult Care Food Program, I also provide nutritious meals and snacks daily. My program offers extracurricular activities like art, music, Spanish and field trips.

My home is smoke and pet free and as a State licensed provider I have completed CPS and Criminal background checks, TB test, CPR, First Aid and MAT (medication administration training) certifications. I am a member of the National Association of Family Childcare, The Virginia Alliance of Family Child Care Association, National Association for the Education of Young People.

I have experience working with first time parents and understand the anxieties of being a new parent and having to leave your child in the care of someone else. My goal is to alleviate that stress by providing a home filled with warmth, love, caring, sharing and respect. I want Koala Kids to be your child's home away from home.
