I was never super comfortable with this daycare and the last three months completely changed my mind. It just got worse.
1. Very high staff turn over.
2. They claim to be peanut free but were giving the kids peanut m&Ms
3. Disciplinary strategies are outdated and not evidence based. Time out doesn't work on an 18 month old.
4. I've come in MULTIPLE times to find the toddlers gathered around a teachers phone watching YouTube videos. That's clearly not what we pay for.
5. The communication is terrible. I never know what or if my child had for lunch or if she napped. There are no notes and the teachers change rooms so frequently they can't answer questions.
6. The front door is rarely locked.

The director was not very kind and often made me feel like a terrible parent for things that are normal for typically developing children. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

My children have gone to creative beginnings for both of our kids and we a loved it there. The teachers are amazing and really care about my kids. Most of all we loved the great Christian environment and curriculum. I would definitely recommend this preschool!!!

** Parents Beware **
We enrolled our two year old son into this facility and from the first day he started I was never at peace with this daycare. The main access door into the facility was secured by a very cheap residential type code lock which holds a maximum of 4 different codes so this means the daycare has no way of suspending access to someone or maintaining a secure access within the facility. Secondly the video surveillance system is a DIY system and this facility has zero exterior cameras which is a HUGE safety concern. I tried to bring these concerns up to the director Rose Mary attention and she was very arrogant to my concerns and ended up hand writing a note to put on the owners desk so he and I could dicscuss in more detail. However three weeks passed and l did not hear from him so I followed up via the website inquiry form and Sandra responded saying they never received a note the night I submitted the online inquiry but then changed her story the next day stating that's Rose Mary ( the director ) said I was trying to sell them a security system. I found this to be very discouraging because
1. I am not in the security system industry.
2. Even if I was trying to sell them a system as a parent of a child attending their daycare a follow up call would be professional.
However after debating with a very unprofessional owner Sandra I now know why I did not receive a follow up. She not only claims to have some " open door policy " as stated on their website. She refused to have a meeting with me as I requested several times via email regarding the above safety concerns. Her response was All these years we haven't had any issues. End of day if you would like to have your children treated like they are in a toddler day jail. Served food that is heated in a microwave with a scoop of Apple sauce. A daycare that is not secure and John Doe off the street could easily walk into because of their lack of investment into a commercial grade access control stystem. A daycare that has a surveillance system that has no exterior cameras not even one at the front door. (Correction there is a camera at the front door that is dangling by the cord but it was from the previous owner and does not work) then that's what you will get here. In closing- if a daycare has to market " Christian " within their name, they don't have a review link on their social media page, and has a very short waiting list then that's even more of a red flag.
Keep your children safe and find another place for them!

This place was a disaster! Do not send your child here. I sent my child for 3 weeks and pulled her out. The owner and director seemed nice during the tour and the placed seemed well ran. Once we enrolled my child I noticed the teachers are not there at drop off around 8 to 8:30 only one rude unfriendly lady sitting in the room, not greeting anyone or welcoming the kids. Just sitting with a frown on her face each morning. It's crazy in the mornings with one adult and a room full of kids. Which is also against the law! So I would drop her off with one person pick her up with another. Very short staffed!! I also noticed that the kids were always being told NO!, Stop! When I would drop my daughter off it seemed like it was baby boot camp in there. The last straw was when I called to ask the director if I could pack a sandwich for my daughter on days they serve bologna and hot dogs, because we don't eat that at home. All they feed the kids is cheap processed meats and can veggies with can mandarin oranges every day. She quickly said no! It's unacceptable in a snappy tone and said she was too busy because the lunch lady was out and she needed to call me back. Well needless to say she Never called me back until the following week after realizing I'm not paying tuition because I'm taking my child some place else. This place did not meet my standards at all. The other thing is this is a christian center, each day I asked what the lesson was and about the day. Her teacher never had any bible story or christian lesson there.

My daughter goes to the Lexington location, and I'm not sure how they run things at the Irmo location, but the Lexington Creative beginnings is a very nice daycare. It is very clean(cleaner than most daycares in Columbia), and the teachers genuinely care about the kids. They have a schedule posted in the front that list every that your child will have for breakfast and lunch there. The kids are always learning, and they give you their papers so that you can see what they did during the day.The only bad thing about this daycare is that they don't have security camera on the inside or the outside. The playground is also very boring. There are no swings or slides out there. They have dolls, but the dolls are small and old and they don't have any clothes.

This childcare center is a great place if you are looking for a safe, clean, christian enviroment for your child. The infant rooms are small and the teachers are very warm and friendly and give the best care available to each child. Toodlers thru 4k are taught how to pray, say the pledge and are constantly egaged in a learning enviroment. Love this place. Highly recommend it.

This child care center was NOT warm, friendly, or otherwise what I was looking for. On several occasions, they fed bottles to the wrong children. Each day, I dropped my child off with one person, there was a completely different person there when I picked up. They couldn't tell me what happened during the day because they weren't there all day. They are overpriced! When I talked to the owner about the food being served to my child, they laughed at me and otherwise dismissed my concerns. (my child had diarrhea for 2 weeks due to the food they served him). I never felt like my child was loved or otherwise well cared for by the staff there.

they are awful. They believe a 3 year old should not have accidents. They left my child in wet clothes all the time and the owner told me if my child had a accident on the playground they would not change her until they came inside. I found this out after my daughter got a UTI and our pediatrician said she had another case because of their militant way of potty training. DSS wants to build a case against them, so please call them if you have the same experience.
