Our daughter started at Bright Start at 6 months old. I cannot say enough amazing things about Ms Ashley and the teachers. They are so warm, loving, attentive, and caring - not only with your child, but with you as a new parent too! I remember my first call with Ashley, and she just spent her time putting me at ease about the whole process of finding the right caregiver. No hard sells, just a human being helping a nervous first time mom.

If you choose to send your child here, know they will be taken care of immensely. It's a smaller group of children, so lots of 1:1 time. I also loved that they were able to get outside, walk to parks, and even get out to downtown Culver City.

I also loved that the teachers worked with us on various developmental stages, and really prioritized creating solid napping environments.

We were so sad to leave once our daughter hit 2 years old, but we still stay in touch and wish her services could extend up through kindergarten.

I found Ashley via care.com and couldn't be more thankful. We started when he was 4 months old and his is now 22 months.

Having Ashley in my son's life is seriously one of the best things that has happened. He is cared for so attentively and personally with constant age-appropriate development, it makes leaving him in her care while I go to work one of the easiest choices I've ever had to make. Her experience with infant behavior has been key in helping him take the bottle better or eating when he was seemingly very picky. Now he is constantly coming home with new words and phrases I know he's learned because of all the fun stuff they do all day, which includes park visits, walks, books, songs, other activities, and more books. We get a report at the end of each day about food, naps, diapers, books, songs, etc, as well as constant text pictures of what they are doing. I love getting to see my happy baby while I am at work. I will be so sad when it's time to move on to preschool, but so thankful for the time he had at Ashley's.

I remember when my son started at Bright Start Baby at 5 months old (he's now 13 months) and I was a mess of nerves. It's so hard, esp as a first time mom, to entrust care of your baby to someone else. I was so lucky to find Ashley and her teachers--they are so intentional and attentive about what activities they do and what they teach the children. They truly love the kiddos and get just as excited as the parents when the child reaches milestones.

Ashley is great in communicating and always available via text and she understands that she needs to build trust with the parents--that has been a great comfort to me. Now, I truly feel that I can drop off my son and know he's in a better learning environment than what we have at home, haha! Ashley has a no-TV policy and loves books and passes on that passion to the kids. She has experience running a Bright Horizons program but we also have the luxury of the flexibility of a small home daycare.

I know my son is safe, loved, well cared for, has the attention he needs balanced with learning to be independent, socializing with the other children, and that I can reach Ashley with questions in a moment's notice. This is the ideal situation for me.

On a logistical side, the ideal starting age is 3-4 months as most kids tend move on at 18-24 months. Ashley is happy to work with you in feeding your child breastmilk or formula and then whatever food you'd like to send. You get a report sheet of naps and diaper changes every day and misc fun info your child did. They take walks outside and go to the park. And lots of reading! :)

We've had our son with Ashley since he was 3 months old (as of this writing, he's 10 months). We initially chose her based on the recommendation of a friend, and her proximity to my husband's work (we actually live in the SF valley.)

Even though my husband is changing his workplace to closer to home, we still plan on staying with Ashley. Why? She is the closest experience we could find to having our kiddo home with us.

Our son is given a chance to explore various kinds of developmentally appropriate music, books, and toys, and is constantly being interacted with. There is no TV on (which is a big issue to us). He goes to the park, on walks, and is cared for in a loving, hands-on manner. His activities and schedule is tailored to his needs, rather than that of a large business.

While her space is on the smaller side, it also means that every child is given the utmost attention.

Ashley sends us pictures and notes constantly: we know what he was up to each day, and we've watch him flourish as a result. He is very social, hasn't had any issues with separation anxiety, and is really a happy kid. Since he's an only child, having the opportunity to be socialized and grow in such a nurturing environment is very important to us.
We're really glad that we chose Bright Start and especially Ashley and her staff.

I have 2 children attending and they are excited every day they go! I have been using them for over 2 years. The care, love, and learning my children have gained is invaluable!
