I am a disabled veteran who served 4 years in the army. I've worked with Department of Veteran Affairs, Army and Airforce Exchange Services, Department of Defense, and Texas Health and Human Services. I have a Bachelors degree in Social work, minors in Psychology and African American studies, and certificate in Diversity studies. I have 90 credit hours in child care along with first, CPR, and basic life support. I also have experience in counseling and working with troubled youth. A year ago, I've decided to open an in home registered daycare in the state of Texas because I love working with children of all ages and I am a mandated reporter of child abuse. My duties are to serve and protect the innocent. I am the voice of the innocent and I welcome all walks of life, where a child is a child first. My in home daycare is also a service disabled veteran owned small business. I am a CCMS and CCA provider. I accept all families as well as military families. My services are before and after-school care, full time, part time, night care, drop ins, sibling discount, and I also provide meals. I am opened M-F from 6am-7pm. Little People Village will involve and treat each child as a valued member of an inclusive safe environment. Every child is unique in their own way and will be able to understand what it means to be a child first in a place that accepts them for who they are. A feeling of belonging is one of the most important aspects of the inclusion process and therefore play a huge role in participation, friendship, and diversity. We will support the interests, strengths, and needs of each child, including those with disabilities.

Christian M. says "Ms Gibson is a fantastic sitter and my son absolutely loves her. Parents usually worry about finding the right sitter, someone that will treat your...

I have had my in-home licensed daycare for 16 years now. I work by myself and never hire outside help at any time. I was previously a kindergarten teacher and assistant director at a private school. I enjoy providing a safe, loving, and an educationally fun environment for children to have fun, learn, and thrive in. I provide hands on opportunities for the children to experiment, learn, explore, and just have fun on their journey into learning and understanding how things work. Depending on their age if they are nearing kindergarten age I will start preparing them for everything they need to know upon entering kindergarten. I have been highly successful in my kindergarten preparedness routine as almost all of the children that have been in my program and have gone into kindergarten have been way more advanced than their classmates. For example, I currently have a 5 year old that will be entering kindergarten in a couple weeks and I have been working with her all year and she is reading at 2nd grade level, can count well past 100, can do addition and subtraction, understands sequencing, can use scissors well, understands directions, understands how to make patterns from shapes, numbers, colors, can visually identify all letters both upper and lowercase, numbers, shapes. My point being she is well prepared to start her journey into elementary school and will cruise easily into any work put her way! I do this with all my 4/5 year olds. Most have gone and thrived in school and after a few years go into the gifted program at their schools. At my daycare I serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. I will work with vegan and vegetarian diets as I have two in my program like that now. I will work with any problems or hurdles your child has. I have one with a bit of a speech problem and I have been using speech techniques to try and help him get through this. We have circle time, read books, play games, do academics (depending on age), we have art activities, musical activities, outdoor play (depending on weather status). I do not drive anywhere with the children ever. I am closed on major holidays. I have excellent references you may call of current clients or from past clients. I currently have two full time spots open for children 6 weeks to kindergarten ages. I enjoy teaching children and providing a loving and safe environment for them all.

Robyn S. says "Karen is wonderful! She kept both of my kids and they absolutely loved her! Both kids were ahead of the game when they started Kindergarten! Karen was a...

We strive to create and provide a place where children can learn life and academic skills in an exciting and experiential age -appropriate environment. Children are active learners who learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. They are little scientists and builders, acrobats and artisans designed uniquely by our creator who need active experiences with this amazing world of people and things designed by God. They need opportunities to set goals, plan, reflect, and take responsibility. From birth, they are communicators who need a world filled with books, language experiences, enriching conversations… This is Discovery Driven Learning
