After spending 15 years in a fast-paced, high energy professional position, I'm taking time off to stay home with my daughter, who's just under 2 years old. I'm passionate about caring for children of all ages; I've worked with children in some capacity for the past 20 years. I'm the oldest of 4, the youngest of whom is 20 years my junior, & I was a nanny for a family with 4 kids (ages 2 mos-12 yrs) for 5+ years, providing daily & some overnight care. I also provided babysitting care to several families throughout high school & college (ages 2-8), & in adulthood, I've always been the first to offer care to my friends who need help with their kids--I'll find any excuse to spend time with little ones! I use redirection & positive reinforcement as my disciplinary tactics, I'm skilled at getting infants & toddlers on consistent schedules, and I also have extensive experience with supportive sleep training (not ever cry-it-out). I live in a fantastic neighborhood with its own park, as well as a nearby library & walking trail; I spend a lot of time reading with the kids throughout the day, playing with educational and age-appropriate toys, and we also visit the Denver Zoo & the Museum of Nature and Science frequently. As a consideration to those with allergies or sensitivities, I have 2 dogs who are outside during the day, and 2 cats who stay inside. All four animals get along very well with kids of all ages.
