Most of our members are seniors living with physical or cognitive disabilities, such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia who require companionship and stimulating activities. We also serve adults who may be socially isolated and feel more comfortable in a social and supportive setting.
With two locations, one in Goleta and one in Montecito, we offer programs that focus on our members' strengths, experiences, and knowledge, rather than their limitations, while accommodating the current reality of their abilities.
Our caring, compassionate staff is highly trained in senior memory care. Our philosophy of care addresses each one's individual needs, with the utmost attention to safety, contented engagement, and aging with dignity. We regard our members as if they were our own loving family.
Activities include:
- Music, dance, and entertainment,
- Arts,
- Gardening and floral arrangement,
- Physical exercise,
- Nature walks,
- Fun games, bingo, and trivia,
- Support groups,
- Light breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack,
- Incontinence assistance,
- Medication dispensation,
- Caregiver support,
- Days and hours of attendance can be arranged to meet your individual needs.
In addition to daycare, we also offer brain fitness programs for all those affected with mild cognitive impairment and early stages of Alzheimer's or other related dementia. Connections is our on-going weekly workshop providing important brain training to help people retain cognitive skills, including memory, logic, language, and math skills. Connections is available in Montecito and Goleta.
We are dedicated to providing affordable care. Full day participation in our programs is valued at $95/day. Sliding fees are available to low-income families. Friendship Center programs are recognized and covered by the Veteran's Administration. We can assist you with the simple application process.
