I have been caring for children since I was 12 years old. I am certified with Bright from the Start and I have been for seven years. I have been CPR certified since 1988. I have been caring for people with special needs as long as I can remember. When in college up north I lived with a gentleman named Leory with cerebral palsy. I would cook, clean, shop, take Leory to school or to the doctor. We had a lot of fun too. It was a great experience. I was his live in helper for a whole year, great memories. I volunteered at the nurse's office to help other challenged people prepare for classes. I read to the blind (some material was not in braille yet) and helped others with tasks. To date I have been employed by three elderly people as a companion with duties from bathing, shopping, cooking, cleaning, companion, transportation and so on. I am currently going to school full time for Medical Administration Technology and I will be graduating December 2013.
