I am passionate about human development and learning. I am preparing to become a child psychiatrist, and I want learning and teaching to continue to play central roles in my work. I have taken a broad spectrum of courses at Cambridge University, Wheaton College, Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and HarvardUniversity. In addition to courses on human development, learning, and best educational practices, I took courses that would enable me to teach any subject in pre-kindergarten to 12th grade, as well as many higher education subjects using active, innovative methods. I have 10 years of experience working as a tutor, teaching assistant, and teacher in private and public schools and colleges. In addition to core academic subjects, I have tutored individuals in music, art, sports, and standardized test preparation. I have tutored adults in GED preparation, as well as statistics and several areas of psychology. I work to develop individuals' confidence and desire to explore and contribute to their worlds. During my own childhood, I was given the opportunity for enrichment not only in traditional academic subjects, but also in art, drama, writing, several musical instruments, numerous sports, and foreign languages. I was taught the importance of learning about other cultures through travel and hosting exchange students. I was shown the value of giving back to the community through volunteer work and service projects.
