I love kids and building new relationships. I believe in LOW RATIOS and promise to provide quality care and teaching. I believe CHILDCARE PROVIDERS should, indeed, be caregivers not only in the sense of caring for each child in our home/childcare but also in the sense of fostering an attitude of caring in the child. Helping children become caring individuals will contribute not only to the welfare of others in the social group and the larger environment but to the overall development of the individual child as well. Children are our most precious possessions and I teach positive socialization skills and provide opportunities for character building. Children learn good behavior from good examples. I teach this on a daily basis. Children are given a variety of indoor and outdoor activities to choose from throughout the day. These activities are designed to enhance the large and small motor skills and hand dexterity, to motivate imagination, encourage creativity, educate, and to meet the individual needs of the child. Young children learn through modeling; more specifically, they learn social skills through modeling. Children have needs and feelings and need ways to express themselves. Therefore, modeling effective and appropriate social skills are incorporated into our daily routine. Teaching your child (ren) life/school set skills will be a very important, and fun part of their day at Small-Frye's Childcare/Raising Rock Stars Preschool. While in my care your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, which promote all aspects of development. Family child care provides for children the comfort and experience of belonging to an extended family. I provide a home-like setting; therefore I do not follow a strict routine. My approach to childcare is child-centered and child-directed. Children are offered choices whenever possible.
