About Zaharah

I am a Child Clinical Psychology PhD student who has always enjoyed tutoring and mentoring kids. For nearly 10 years, I have tutored and mentored kids K-12 as an individual tutor within an inner-city school, classroom teaching aide, camp counselor, and ambassador for enrichment programs. I have taught English, Math, and Spanish. In particular, I have extensive experience tutoring in English for elementary school students performing below grade-level (below third-quartile) and/or learning English as a second language. My previous students have not only reached but surpassed their grade-level expectations in reading and writing. I have also enjoyed watching them develop confidence and an appreciation for learning! Outside of academics, I currently teach Latin dance group classes in the State College community and can also teach privately.
