About Yihwa

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music, majoring in Chinese Zither (Guzheng) with a minor in Piano. With over 30 years of experience teaching young children, I specialize in introducing music to preschoolers and beginner students in a fun, patient, and encouraging way. I offer beginner Piano and Chinese Zither (Guzheng) lessons for children ages 3-10. My teaching philosophy is to help children develop a love for music first, rather than focusing only on technique. Through creative, age-appropriate lessons, I encourage children to explore music, express themselves, and build confidence while developing a strong musical foundation. I provide in-home lessons in the Davis and can teach in both English and Mandarin. I would love the opportunity to share the joy of music with your child and help them begin a lifelong musical journey.
