About Yashira

My background in education includes elementary teaching, homeschooling, K-12 tutoring, special-education support, English language development, and children's ministry. I hold a B. A. in Liberal Studies, an M. A. in Teaching, and previously held a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with EL/CLAD authorization. I homeschooled my own child from grades 6-12 and have supported students with varied abilities and needs, including special needs, gifted/advanced learners, and students learning English. I especially enjoy working with children who might be overlooked in a general classroom, helping them build on their strengths, overcome challenges, and grow in confidence. My approach is grounded in my Protestant Christian faith. I believe every child is created in God's image and has inherent worth, and that parents are their children's primary educators. I come alongside families with individualized instruction and support consistent with their goals and educational values.
