About Xiaowei

Hello, I am Romee and I am currently a junior majoring in BS biochemistry at University of Washington. I worked at a memory care for about a year. I also took the nursing assistant state examination and is currently waiting for my physical certification. My responsibilities include dressing the residents in the morning, feeding them, giving them showers and keeping them accompanied. I enjoy seeing the smiles across their face even though some of them are unable to communicate verbally. Dementia might hinder communication but it never hinder one's ability to understand. There are many ways that we could express love and concern. One way is through smiling and our body language. I find the job of a caregiver super rewarding especially when my resident would randomly blurt out a thank you It always make my day. In the long run, I am super keen to continue working with the geriatric community and continue to provide the excellent care that they deserve.
