As the oldest child, I cared for my mother until she passed, managing her medical appointments, medications, daily care, and household needs. I also learned to administer enteral feeding so I could bring her home from a nursing facility and continue her care. In addition, I worked with hospice to care for my 86-year-old stepfather at home. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of compassionate, hands-on care and the importance of supporting families who cannot always be present.
