I have minimal experience, taking care of elderly people and I have not gone to school with it, but I did experience firsthand what it's like with my grandma. My mom and I helped take care of my grandma until she passed last year. The last four years were the hardest for her. We had to cook for her, clean her space, wash her clothes, take her to the doctor, manage her medication. My mom would bathe her and we would take turns staying up at night when she would get very ill. I was not paid for this. I did it willingly and gladly because I loved my grandma. This experience taught me how fragile and sensitive our elderly loved ones are. It made me have more appreciation for the sacrifices they made for us previously. I had a close relationship with my grandma and to able to care for her in her last year's was an amazing experience and I'm so grateful I was part of it. I got to give back just a little of everything that she did for my mom and I.
