About Viraj

I am an experienced educator, private tutor, and medical-school graduate with more than 10 years of experience working one-on-one and in small groups with students from elementary through high school. Most recently, I taught grades 6-8 science in a NYC public school and helped prepare 8th-grade students for Biology Regents-level coursework. I tutor reading, writing, vocabulary, math, science, homework, school projects, study skills, and test preparation. I especially enjoy helping younger students strengthen writing, reading comprehension, organization, and confidence. My background in biology, psychology, cognitive science, and medicine helps me adapt instruction to each student's needs. I am patient, encouraging, and structured, and I can create customized practice materials when helpful. I tutor at homes, libraries, or other convenient locations and am comfortable around pets. Current availability: Mon/Wed/Thu 8-3, Tuesdays flexible, and some Friday mornings.
