Hi, I'm V (Verena)! I'm the founder of S E L C and a child development specialist with a bacground in Early Childhood Education. I hold my ABA certification and a Master's degree in Applied Developmental Psychology. My approach weaves social emotional learning into everyday moments including play, transitions, mealtimes, and the small interactions that shape how children understand themselves and others. I am looking for two or more families who value social emotional learning! To support mixed age groups, I am a team and work alongside my sister Aspen. She supports our individualized daily care rhythms like meals, rest time, and activity setup so I can focus fully on each child's developmental and emotional growth. Whether you're looking for enrichment support, consistent in-home care, or a small group setting. Care here is intentional, warm, and built around your child. We can't wait to meet you!
Verena is a highly motivated, reliable, and energetic caregiver that has provided amazing and enriching care for our two children. Since May 2023, Verena (aka “V”) has worked as our at-home care provider for our daughter (aged 12 months at the start of Verena’s employment, now 2 years old) and son (now 3 months old) in a small group setting that has included two other girls aged several months apart from our daughter. From the outset, she applied her educational and work experience background in early childhood education to develop plans and activities suited to the space and equipment available in our home. V is an excellent communicator, whether it’s to report on how naps went, talk about cool new milestones she observed, or ask about a new hands-on activity she researched and wants to try out with the kids. She is very reliable and always shows up to work with BIG energy needed to coach young children through play, communication, and emotions in a small group setting. Beyond providing excellent day-to-day care, V has had a tangible, positive impact on our children by nurturing their cognitive, social, and emotional development in a trusted and safe environment. In short, V has completely exceeded our expectations as a caregiver, and we would highly recommend her for any family looking to receive outstanding care.
