About Verda

With our two children currently away at college, I miss seeing the awe in a child's eyes when they realize the wonder of learning. My skills and experience range from baby/toddler stimulation and growth, curriculum planning, study skills, critical thinking to strengths in handwriting, spelling/grammar, literature, math, history, art and philosophy. I found that educating children as a teacher is far different than educating a child from a parent's perspective. It can be difficult to be both parent and educator. Tutoring is bridge-building between school and home. I have seen children struggle, underestimated by teachers, children who secretly believed that they weren't actually smart. I've also seen children who flourished with a little one-on-one guidance, sometimes learning things that helped them across the board and It is my passion to help them to excel, learn proper study habits with organizational skills, to feel confident and to excel while embracing learning!
