About Velia

Hello families, my name is Velia. I am currently a fifth grade teacher with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. I am beginning my fifth year teaching and I have obtained my Masters degree with Loyola Marymount University. I began tutoring in a school setting in January of 2019 through one of my fieldwork courses at UC Irvine. These experiences ignited my passion for tutoring. My main areas of expertise are in the Elementary level across all subjects. I am also happy to assist our Middle Schoolers! I can assist with study skills , homework , and any relevant skills that your child needs to be a confident learner! I enjoy tutoring because I remember what it was like to be a student myself. I had the fortune of having great teachers and tutors throughout my academic journey and I'd like to provide that support to others.
