I strive to always move from a place of love and empathy when caring for young ones. I like to practice principles from Montessori learning, gentle and attachment parenting. Most importantly, safety is my number one priority. I like to take kids outdoors as much as possible and I enjoy using art and music/dance as a form of expression. I am an avid home cook and gardener studying plant medicine and somatics. I had the privilege of working in a home daycare that included kids from infants to 7-year-olds. I have nannied for four families with infants, toddlers, and children ranging from ages 5-9 years old. Vanessa (Vee) worked with us for 8 weeks in summer 2021, caring for 2 energetic kids (2.5 and 4.5) for 4 hours on weekday afternoons. She used our car to pick up from camp, and then spent time at the playground, splash pad, or playing at our home. The kids took to her quickly and loved her imaginary play and warm, caring approach. My older son is developmentally delayed and Vee was very thoughtful and intentional in how she engaged with him to support his needs. Vee is safe, responsible, responsive to feedback, and provides great fun for our kids. We look forward to continuing to hire Vee on an ad-hoc basis over the academic year.
