About Vanessa

I primarily have worked as a nanny for over a decade, assisting children ages 5-12 with schoolwork. I have professional experience working at the Eastern Michigan University Speech Pathology clinic where I assisted children with reading comprehension skills, writing, and communication disorders. I taught reading with Detroit Fellows Tutoring Program at Maybury Elementary School. I finished my undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in 2008 with Honors. I received MENSA scores on my GRE so am available to tutor High School students for standardized tests. I finished my courses for my Master's Degree in Speech Pathology at Eastern Michigan University in 2015 but only completed one year of my internship; so the degree remains incomplete. I decided not to be a Pediatric SLP but still enjoy working with children. I can tutor Pre-K -12. I am a local ceramics artists and performing musician. I also volunteered as a band coach with Girls Rock Music camp in Detroit.
