I have 15 plus years of Home health experience as a licensed professional. I am BLS/CPR/AED trained.
I manage care by taking vital signs, assisting with medications, take to doctor appointments, meal prep, exercise with walks or physical range of motion exercises and light housework. I have experience with alzheimers, traumatic brain injury and cognitive impairment. I have also managed care by maintaining medical charts, schedules for doctors appointments and therapists and other in-home caretakers. planned exercise activities and daily outings depending on interests.

I was blessed to have Valerie as my mom’s caregiver. She went above and beyond every day, showing genuine compassion and kindness. She treated my mom and I like family, always attentive to our needs, offering encouragement and a warm smile. Her dedication, reliability, and empathy were truly appreciated.  I will always be grateful for the exceptional care she provided. She’s not only an exceptional caregiver, but incredible person. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of the very best care!

Valerie is empathetic, caring, kind, and intuitive. We were so very fortunate to find her when our parents needed someone like her most. My father is a proud and independent man who is uncomfortable needing or asking for help, but Valerie earned his complete trust and she became a tremendous support for him and took so much weight off his shoulders. I can't say enough about this amazing person.

Valerie became the caregiver for my parents in October 2019 and was a godsend from the beginning. She is very personable; she quickly made my parents feel at ease and took care of their daily needs for 1.5 years, including the year of the pandemic!  My mother has TBI/aphasia and my father has Parkinson's disease and other health issues. Valerie gradually increased her assistance as the requirements for my parents (now ages 90 and 91) increased. She worked extra hours until we could secure additional caretakers. Ultimately, we finally made the difficult decision to move them to a 'full-time' retirement home after my father suffered a stroke and then a fall in March and April of this year. Valerie made sure my folks received their medications three times per day, helped them with bathing and dressing, shopping, coordinating physicians and medical appointments and more. We highly recommend her.

I signed my mom up on care.com for the first time in desperate need of assistance for my mom as I live in Oregon. Valerie kept me up to date and informed which kept me at ease! I spoke with my mom and she was also very grateful for her assistance and kindness even though my mom had her driving all over Buda, Kyle and Austin!! Will definitely request her service and highly recommend Valerie to others as well.

Valerie could not even make it a full day here. She was supposed to work and till 6:00 p.m. and couldn't make it that long and complained about my mom and how tough it was to care for her. She has Alzheimer's  And requires a bit of finis which Valerie did not have apparently. I told her  There were cats and dogs in the home and she said she was fine with that but when I had to come home early because she called me and said she couldn't handle it Because she's allergic to cats! So in addition to not being able to care for my mother she's also allergic to cats which she failed to mention and the interview. I wouldn't hire her for any type of carrying situation.

It is a true pleasure for me to write this recommendation for my sister Valerie N.  From watching her raise her children, to hearing about her experience as a school nurse, and then extending herself as a caregiver to many in need including those in hospice care, Valerie is one of the most compassionate, caring, and giving persons I know. It is her nature to help others. She extends herself both on a physical and emotional level while providing much-needed comfort, companionship and conversation, beyond medication support and assistance. Gifted with the capacity to remain calm and think logically even during severely distressing times she can be counted on.
