About Umber

Writing, reading, and storytelling have always been fundamental parts of my life. My two degrees - an MA in Film and Media Studies and a BA in Communications and Creative Writing - have allowed me to become an adept critical thinker. I've worked in higher education, first as a Peer Mentor at San Jose State and then as a Teaching Assistant at UCLA, where I led workshops, taught film classes, mentored individuals one-on-one, and connected students to important campus resources. I love connecting with others and helping students reach their full potential.
