Uiara has worked with our family for over 5 years, starting when our oldest child was 1 year old, and has helped to raise our 2.5 year old from birth.  She is a loving, engaging nanny, whom our children affectionately call "Tia."  As my work commitments have varied over the years, Uiara has been very flexible in taking on additional family assistant work, including grocery shopping, preparing family meals, and driving our children to/from school and activities.  She is very punctual (starting as early as 7:15 am), and dependable.  As our youngest child will be starting school soon, we would love to continue to employ Uiara on a part time basis and are flexible on the days of the week to create a share-care arrangement.

Uiara is a great Douala. She took care of my new born when he was one week old and she knew how to make him feel comfortable. Uiara helped me to sleep more than 6 hours straight and a new mother really appreciates it! I recommend her 100%.

Our family required last minute babysitting services due to a family member bailing on us. I was extremely stressed, but Uiara immediately put my mind at ease with her prompt communication and reassuring words. She is extremely warm and caring and it is very evident that she loves children. Uiara is punctual, reliable and a great communicator. She even went above and beyond with tidying the house while our toddler slept.  I highly recommend Uiara and look forward to hiring her again for future date nights.

We had the pleasure of having Uiara N. with our family from 2008 to 2015! She started out caring for our six week old daughter. I was very nervous about handing over my new (and first) baby to a childcare provider, but Uiara's skills and loving personality quickly put me at ease. She's simply wonderful with babies! Each day when I came home from work Z. was calm, fed and clean (because Uiara bathed her nearly every day), and the house was always peaceful. Safety is a priority for Uiara, and I was confident Z. was both safe and loved in her care. As Z. grew, Uiara's tasks came to include cooking lunch for her, cleaning up the dishes and toys, trips to the park, and loads of reading. Later, she taught Z. to say please and thank you (which was magic, and something I hadn't yet done) and to help with cleaning up the toys. She also helped Z. learn to recognize letters and numbers.   
 
Over the years we took on multiple nanny shares: one with Z. and another girl, which lasted about a year and half, and then a second with our six month old son Sasha and a second six month old boy, which lasted about three years. There were also times when Uiara watched three boys at once, due to friends needing temporary or sporadic childcare. Uiara proved herself adept in these situations, whether it was multiple infants or toddlers. 
 
Although our kids are in school now and don't see Uiara every day, they still talk about her often and look forward to occasional outings or sleepovers with "Tia" (aunt) Uiara.

We were very fortunate to employ Uiara N. as a nanny for our son for just over one year. During this time, our son was 6 months to 1.5 years old. Uiara was an extremely caring, trustworthy, and experienced caregiver. Our son loves Uiara, and it is obvious she loves him as well. 
When he was a baby, Uiara kept a journal for us about our son's daily nap, feeding, and poop schedule. She was great at making sure he napped regularly, and got out of the house at least once a day. She sang sons with him, spoke only in Portuguese at our request, played, read books, and cared for him extremely well. She even bought Portuguese-English books for our son to have. She often braved our son's illnesses and cared for him anyway - including a time he was absolutely covered in spots with hand, foot, and mouth disease. 
As he transitioned to a toddler, Uiara kept up with his energy by playing funny games with him inside the house (he thinks Uiara is hilarious!), taking him to classes and play dates, to the zoo, and other activities. We loved that she brought home artwork he created; I cried the first time he wrote Mom on a painting. Uiara encourages positive behavior in our son, as well as being playful and patient.
Throughout the year, Uiara was always punctual, communicative about our schedules and our son's needs, positive, and loving. She would often send us text messages with photos or videos. She even texted photos to our son's grandparents, which they of course loved.
We are sad to say goodbye to our full time care with Uiara; our son is transitioning to a daycare. We hope to see Uiara often for visits or babysitting if she is available after finding another full time job.
We recommend Uiara highly to any parent of babies or toddlers; you'll be lucky to have her!

If you are looking for an exceptionally caring, loving, and responsible nanny who will take excellent care of your child, Uiara, is all that and more. We were first time parents and definitely very particular in who we were going to let care for our first born child. Uiara immediately took away all of our new parent anxiety as she has tons of experience and is a complete professional at her job knowing just what the child needs (often times better than we did as parents). We have been working with Uiara for the last 14 months since our son was 6 months old, and she is great with infants and toddlers alike.
Most importantly, we wanted a nanny who would care for and love our son just as we do as parents by creating a safe, warm, and nurturing environment for our child. Uiara far exceeded our expectations in this area, and goes over and beyond helping with our son's laundry, tiding up around the house, putting away dishes, and even cooking meals for us when she has the time.
Uiara is extremely reliable and has never been late once in the over 14 months working with us. Furthermore, she is very flexible and has never once complained when we occasionally ask her to stay a little late last minute because we are stuck at work. From her years of experience, Uiara knows San Francisco well, has a great driving record, and takes our son, currently 20 months old now, on daily outings to the park, playgrounds, and various children classes. We feel completely safe having Uiara watch our son which was one of our initial concerns with having a nanny. We are also very pleased with the added benefit that Uiara speaks Brazilian Portuguese (and her English is excellent too, of course) to our son who is on his way to becoming bilingual.
We cannot recommend Uiara enough as she has truly become part of the family. We are sad to see her go, but know that she will have no trouble finding another family as good nannies are hard to find and she is one of the best!!!!

Uiara is a very caring, loving, calm person! She cared for our two sons and so many other children from all ages, newborns to teenagers. I would definitely recommend Uiara!!!

Uiara cared for our two children (now 4 and 8) full time from the time they were infants until they were in preschool. She was loving, caring, dedicated, trustworthy, responsible, flexible, reliable and punctual. Our children adore her and still regularly ask for sleepovers at her house.

She's completely fluent in English and is very easy to communicate with. She has an agile mind and a laid back and resilient personality that makes any difficult situations (which were thankfully incredibly rare) easy to work through quickly.

It's been wonderful getting to know her and her family and I'm confident that my children will grow up healthier and happier because of the strong foundation of love, comfort and stability that she was able to provide for them.

Uiara is a baby whisperer. She came into our lives when my son was four weeks old and I had a dissertation to write, and she quickly settled in to a very caring and warm routine with our family, nurturing my son (and me at times while I was still sleep deprived!). Uiara knows how to read a baby's sleep and eating rhythms and help establish routines that are based on a baby's needs. She will give your child an immense amount of love!
