Throughout my career, I've worked with children with different communication styles, developmental needs, personalities, and levels of independence. ABA has given me the tools to adapt my approach to each individual child rather than expecting every child to learn or communicate in the same way. Whether that means using visual supports, play, communication strategies, positive reinforcement, structured routines, or simply giving a child a little extra time and patience, I'm always willing to meet them where they are. I've learned to look beyond behaviors and ask myself what a child may be trying to communicate or what they might need from the people around them. I believe that patience and dignity should be at the center of every interaction. To me, being a caregiver isn't just about providing supervision -- it's about building trust, creating a safe and happy environment, encouraging independence, and making sure a child feels genuinely cared for and accepted exactly as they are.
