About Tonika

Nurturing children and supporting their growth has always been a passion of mine. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with both a Bachelor's and Master of Social Work degree. I have experience working with children and adolescents across residential care, school-based settings, and programs supporting youth with disabilities, behavioral challenges, and mental health needs. I currently work as a substitute teacher in a special education classroom, where I provide patience, structure, and individualized support to students with diverse needs. I'm dependable, compassionate, and creative, and I enjoy engaging kids through games, arts and crafts, educational activities, and imaginative play. I'm also willing to assist with light housekeeping and routines. I would need to bring my almost 5-month-old baby with me during care(M-F), so I'm looking for families comfortable with that arrangement. I'd also prefer something consistent for the summer and I can be flexible with times.
