In 1989 I opened an in-home daycare at my residence in Southern, NH. I cared for many children with special needs, including children with epilepsy, ADHD, and autism. I ran my in-home daycare for over 25 years, but within that time I took one year off to work for a middle school as a special education assistant for the 8th grade. At that time, I worked one-on-one with a child with a hearing impairment, and on occasion, with a child with Asperger's syndrome. All of my children in my daycare were treated with equal parts of love and structure. In 2012 my family and I decided to sell our large home and move to the Lakes Region here in Laconia. Since December 2012, I have been caring for a beautiful woman with Alzheimer's disease part time. I believe in honest and open communication. I am a part time homeschooling mom to my 16-year-old son, so self educating is a large part of my life. In our free time my family and I enjoy kayaking, fishing, and hiking with our 2 shelties. I was raised on a farm in Litchfield, NH. and I love all animals, big and small. I enjoy creative activities, puzzles, and reading to others. I want to thank you for your time, and I hope we may meet.
