I head the sports banquet committee for my swim club. I am responsible each year for planning our annual swim team banquet for over 300 people. This involves all aspects of event planning from hiring a caterer, planning an affordable menu that will please all ages from 5 to adult, picking a theme, planning the entertainment, decorating, setting up the area for the banquet, awards, managing volunteers, and clean up. Also involved is the accounting and budgeting for the banquet. I set a price for the tickets based on the swim team contribution usually $3000. The budget is usually $5000 based on contribution and member fee. I produce a banquet brochure with a theme and menu. I design this myself and arrange for the printing and distribution. I also design a swim team banner. I provide the swim team treasurer with a complete budget /expense report for the banquet. This event is held each year over the summer and is always held outdoors. There are several major components of the banquet .
